Restrictions
Restrictions define who can take on which Task. You can define Restrictions for Jobs in two places:
Restrictions in Jobs
The Job is the "master" for Restrictions. When creating or editing a Job, you will find the option "Restrict Job sign-ups".
As soon as you enable this option, all Groups stored in the system are displayed. You can then select the Groups that are suitable for the Job. If no Groups are selected, this has the same effect as selecting all Groups - all Groups are suitable for the Job.
As soon as Groups are selected, Helpers who do not belong to any of the selected Groups will see a warning that the Job is not intended for them - however, they can still take it on.
To prevent this, you will find the option "Matching Group required" below the Group selection. Once enabled, ONLY Helpers from the Groups selected above can take on the Job. Tasks for this Job are initially not displayed at all to anyone else, and they cannot take them on. In the Helper section, they can switch to "All Tasks" - the Tasks will then be displayed, but they still cannot take them on.
Restrictions in Groups
When editing or creating a Group, there is an option called "Assign Jobs with Restrictions". Here, Jobs that already have Restrictions can also be assigned to the current Group. It does not matter whether "Matching Group required" is enabled for the Job Restriction. If you select the relevant Job when editing the Group, the same Restriction settings defined for the Job will apply to that Group.
Jobs without Restrictions cannot be selected when editing a Group. Restrictions must always be defined for the Jobs first. Only once a Restriction has been set for a Job can it be selected when editing a Group.
Matching Tasks required
Under "Organisation" - "Events & Tasks", you will find the option "Matching Tasks required". This setting controls globally whether Jobs that have Groups assigned to them can only be taken on by those Groups. This means that as soon as you restrict a Job, that Restriction becomes mandatory.
